Forever Valentino brings Haute Couture to the Middle East for the very first time!

Maison Valentino pays homage to its founder Valentino Garavani with its largest ever exhibition “Forever Valentino” displaying timeless high-end fashion designs beautifully projection mapped on mannequins by La Rosa in an immersive scenography.

The exhibition weaves a richly textured image of the city of Rome leading viewers on a colourful journey through Valentino’s past and present since 1959.

Creative Technology were commissioned by our client Kennedy to produce a bespoke design for a soundscape across the entire exhibition experience using the latest audio technology and a high-end video installation for the projection mapping along with multiple hi-resolution LED displays.

CT provided audio and video components to an immersive exhibition in the heart of Doha’s, cultural centre Msheireb. Located in M7 museum the exhibit was to run continuously for 6 months with 10’s of thousands of visitors expected.

Full audio and video solutions including immersive audio throughout the entire two-floor exhibition. Along with custom-sized LED walls using 2.5mm screen for good clarity even close up in an interactive exhibition environment. LG professional displays were also used in an artistic wall with various sizes and placements to give a creative effect paired with clients video content.

The installation was comprised of over 60 d&b speakers fed from one centralized control location to both floors. 9 Epson projectors were used to display video content. A Q-Sys control system with custom-made UCI was used for the space to interact with all the AV systems with ease.  This was also designed by CT to follow the Valentino branding of the space. A small and robust network was used, comprised of multiple VLANS to separate our different streams of AVB and Dante audio. As well as Video Over IP used to transport video feeds from the centralized server location.

CT were responsible for the audio and video design as per client’s brief. Audio and projection studies were carried out to allow CT to find the best product needed for the re-equipment’s.

We created a custom 3D mapping of the bespoke Valentino dress which were suspended in the air. A 3D scan was taken of each of the 4 dresses along with the exhibition space they were housed in. These were converted into 3D models and bought into our Watchout display system which fed our 6 Epson projectors in the space. Resulting in a stunning display of colors and content on very intricate and complex dresses.

Project Manager Danny Lord expressed, “Our fantastic team took on this project working alongside various other specialist contractors and teams to produce a stunning final product. Using 3D mapping was the perfect solution for us to achieve the best result in the shortest time when it came to projecting on the bespoke Valentino dresses – some of which were 3 meters tall.  Extra care was taken whilst working in the museum as the building had many sensitive flooring and surfaces we had to interact with.

It was also a pleasure working with the fantastic team at Kennedy London, helping to bring their vision to life, and to provide the on-site team to support the system operation throughout its six month residence in the fabulous M7 Creative Hub.”
